Riverside Historic District

From the quaint homes, ecelectic shopping and cozy community, Riverside is the place to explore some of the best that Jacksonville has to offer. Steeped in historic traditions, Riverside homes are each unique in their own way.

Since 1974, one of the South's largest neighborhood preservation groups, Riverside Avondale Preservation, Inc. (RAP) has been guarding and guiding the ever evolving mix of history, architecture, culture, and commerce in the Riverside Avondale area.  Annual home tours, concerts, house restorations, art festivals and a spectacular Christmas Luminaria Festival are among its successful projects.

North Riverside

North Riverside is a community just north of the historic district of Riverside. This area is being revitalized by a growing neighborhood association, active residents interested in the safety and investment potential of this community and organizations like RADO that see this area as a wonderful addition to the urban core for obtainable housing. Murray Hill

Murray Hill is west of the historic district of Riverside. This community is a beautiful area with historic homes, parks, great places to eat and to socialize with neighbors. Murray Hill, like Riverside and Avondale is a walkable community and is only minutes from downtown. RADO has begun construction and renovation on homes in this area.
